About the expedition

Comau: Where the Andes rise from the ocean

Comau Fjord is a deep geographical rift where the Andes descend into the Pacific Ocean. Its granite walls, covered in temperate rainforests, rise abruptly from the sea, while countless waterfalls descend from the mountains into its waters.

It is a land of extreme contrasts: pristine forests, mountains, glaciers, hidden lagoons and intense geothermal activity that emerges as hot springs at various points along the fjord. Here, the landscape still retains a scale and a natural character that is difficult to find elsewhere in Patagonia.

More about the expedition+

Exploring Comau means sailing slowly towards places that do not appear on conventional routes. It means going ashore on remote coasts, entering ancient forests, discovering hidden lagoons and ending the day immersed in hot springs, surrounded only by rainforest, mountains and the silence of the fjord.

Western Patagonia designs and builds each expedition around our clients' purpose and interests. We provide our vessels, knowledge of the territory and sailing expertise to create a private, entirely bespoke journey through Comau Fjord.

The route, landing places, days of exploration and activities are defined together before departure. It may be an expedition focused on nature and photography, a family adventure, scientific exploration or an audiovisual production. There is no predetermined itinerary: each expedition is built for those who undertake it.
