About the expedition

Insular Patagonia

Fjords at the End of the World is an expedition into one of the most remote and pristine territories of Chilean Patagonia. From Puerto Natales, we sail northwards, gradually entering a labyrinth of fjords, channels, islands, forests and vast expanses of ice, where human presence becomes increasingly scarce.

The first stage takes us to Estero Las Montañas, a territory dominated by the Bernal, Alsina and Paredes glaciers. Here, sailing becomes an experience of contemplation and exploration, with the possibility of going ashore for a gentle trek through forests and glacial landscapes.

More about the expedition+

From there, we continue towards Puerto Bueno and the heart of insular Patagonia, sailing for several days among fjords and channels where nature remains almost untouched. The great Los Patos, Yelcho, Pío XI and Eyre glaciers will form part of this journey, as will the forests, mountains, seabirds, mammals and the vastness of a territory where the landscape is constantly changing.

Over three to four days of sailing, the expedition ventures into some of the most isolated corners of Patagonia, accompanied only by endemic flora and fauna and the vast landscapes surrounding the vessel. Reaching Puerto Edén marks a change of pace. We will have time to explore this small island settlement, learn about its history and share time with its community, before setting sail back towards Puerto Natales along a route equally shaped by geography and weather.
