Chiloé landscapes
A landscape where the sea opens between shores, islands and channels, surrounded by fields and forests that shape the unique geography of the Chiloé Archipelago.

About the expedition
Our expedition sets sail from Dalcahue and enters the labyrinth of islands, channels and archipelagos that form one of the most distinctive cultural and geographical territories of northern Patagonia. We sail towards the Butachauques Islands and continue through small islands and communities such as Apiao, Queilén, Detif and Quehui, following historic sea routes that have connected their inhabitants for centuries. More than travelling through a destination, we seek to understand a territory.
The expedition takes us through coves, beaches, forests and landscapes shaped by the sea, but also into Chiloé culture: the ways its people inhabit the islands, its wooden churches, traditions, stories and an identity deeply connected to sailing and the ocean.
Cuisine is an essential part of this exploration. At every stop, sea and land meet in a gastronomy built around local produce: shellfish, fish, native potatoes, seaweed, meats and preparations passed down through generations. Eating in Chiloé is also a way of understanding its geography and the relationship its people have with it.
We sail among island communities, the landscape changing with the tides, following the pulse of an archipelago where the sea does not separate the islands: it connects them. An expedition to explore Chiloé from its waters, discover its landscapes and understand the culture that emerged among them.
